Startups and Businesses are popping like mushrooms every day.
Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Elon Musk are names of some entrepreneurs who have changed the world.
We are bombarded by content on Youtube, TikTok and Instagram about this hard but worthwhile journey called Entrepreneurship. A chance to bring change in millions of lives and possibly become someone important. You get to enjoy the lavish life, palace-like mansions and everything money and power can buy.
Inspirations and Motivation, naturally crawl up that little brain of yours and you decide, “I am going to start something”, it’s the new generation.
Then you list all the things you are good at, or find someone who is actually good at something unlike you and decide to do “Something”.
You list those things.

I know how to use Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok. |
He knows Photoshop. |
Voila, you have your something, you are going to start a Digital Marketing Agency. You follow every GaryVee video and watch all the Ted Talks.
Then you go on to decide on the company name, create a creative logo, and business card, and create a Facebook page with just the perfect cover image.
Then it’s time to finally earn some money.
Finally ……
(Pin drop silence)
But! No one is willing to buy anything from you!
Seriously after so much work and planning, no one?
This is the point where people find themselves stuck in. And the funny thing is you just did one thing wrong.
You broke but unspoken truth—the universal law of any business.
This comes not in the form of a rule but in the form of a question.
Is there really a market need for this or are you doing this just because you can?
Yes, it’s a tough question.
Someone may know how to code, so they start a Development Company.
Someone may know how to bake, so they start a Bakery.
Someone may know Photoshop and use Facebook, so they start a Digital Marketing Agency.
It’s the same story, over and over again.
Answering this hard question changes everything because now you are not thinking about whether you know something and making a list of all the useless things you are good at.
Now, you are actually thinking about the users, clients or the audience. Remember, humans are social creatures but all we care about is ourselves.
We all think:
How does it make me feel?
How is this useful to me?
Does this increase or decrease my status?
But by asking this hard question, you have now transcended from the “ME” mentality to the “YOU” mentality.
You now think:
“How can I help you?”
“What can I do so you can pay me?”
“What problems can I solve for you?”
Answer the hard question.
It’s all about “YOU”. Touche!
